The Valda and Bernard Õun Memorial Fund was established to
support and recognize biomedical research at the University of Tartu. This
year, the €5,000 scholarship was awarded to Keerthana Chithanathan, a 4th-year
PhD student in neuroscience at the University of Tartu, whose research focuses
on the roles of microRNA-146 (miR-146a and miR-146b) in brain health,
specifically in relation to neuroinflammation, neurogenesis, and microglial
function.

announces today a new scholarship recognizing and supporting women students.
All undergraduate and graduate women students of the University of Tartu's
Institute of Computer Science can apply for one of the three €1,000
scholarships. In addition, Wise will create opportunities for the scholarship
holders to network and explore future career options.
