The scholarship is intended to promote Estonian students' understanding of world science, help establish contacts with people in the same field around the world and motivate students to link their careers with science. The scholarship must contribute to the development of Estonian forest ecology science on a global scale. Foreign researchers may also apply for travel support if the focus of their visit is communication and information exchange with Estonian ecology students.
