The 2017 Carl Schmidt Scientific Award

Description of Award:

The purpose of the award is to encourage investigations on the historical development of chemistry and medicine at the University of Tartu.

Value/Amount:

One scholarship in the amount of 1500 euros

Eligibility Requirements:

Applications for the award can be submitted by researchers, whose investigations are related to the history of chemistry and medicine at the University of Tartu and who have published (preferably within the last two years) a monograph or a series of articles related to the objective of the award.

How to Apply:

The applicants must submit the following materials to the University of Tartu Foundation by the deadline announced:

• free-form application;
• four copies of the monograph or the series of articles related to the objective of the award;
• an one-page summary of the results of there investigations written in English;
• an overview of their professional activities.

Scholarship will be awarded:

The scholarships are handed over at a ceremonial event celebrating the anniversary of the University of Tartu at the beginning of December and are paid after the handover ceremony.
