The 2016 Erich Rannu Family Scholarship
The 2016 Erich Rannu Family Scholarship was awarded to Uku Lilleväli (1600 euros), Mykyta Gorskykh (1000 euros) and Diana Gabrielyan (2000 euros).
The purpose of the scholarship is to improve the study of economics at the University of Tartu by encouraging students to apply their skills and knowledge to ethical economic activity in Estonia.
The total amount of the scholarships is 8000 euros. The commission will determine the final amount and number of scholarships.
Students from all academic degrees of the Faculty of Economics are eligible candidates, as well as students from the Institute of Computer Science studying economics as an additional specialty.
In order to apply, you must submit the following to the UT Foundation:
- an electronic application form, including information about the applicant and a recommendation from a lecturer;
- an essay (up to 3 pages) explaining the applicant’s understanding of the economic situation and developmental possibilities in Estonia, and also describing the importance of ethics in economic development. The essay should be attached to the application as a PDF file.
The scholarships are awarded based on a variety of factors including academic and professional achievements, community service and financial need. Also the understanding of the economic development and the importance of ethics based on the written essay is taken into account.
The deadline for submission of applications is 1 May 2016.
