The 2025 Tartu Raefond Scholarship
Description of Scholarship:
This scholarship is granted to Bachelor's or Master's students of the University of Tartu. The Scholarship is granted to support successful studies.
The Tartu Raefond scholarship motivates the students to plan a research or a thesis that deals with the challenges of the city of Tartu or developments related to the city in connection with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDG). Value/Amount:
The amount of the scholarship is 1500 EUR. Up to ten Scholarships are granted per year.
Full Eligibility Requirements:
The applicant must be a student of the University of Tartu!
The scholarship is awarded to a Bachelor’s or Master's student of the University of Tartu to motivate the student to do an outstanding research paper or thesis that deals with the challenges of the city of Tartu of developments related to the city in connection with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDG).
Upon granting the Scholarship, the student's study results and the extracurricular activities related to the city of Tartu and the University of Tartu are taken into account.
How to Apply:
- Applicant must submit an electronic application which includes the reasons for applying for the Scholarship, an overview of the extracurricular activities related to the city of Tartu and the University of Tartu
- a recommendation letter from faculty or supervisor;
- a transcript of records signed by your faculty's Academic Affairs Specialist.
- a free-form essay describing the topic of the research or thesis, its connection to the challenges or developments of the city of Tartu, and presenting a plan for the preparation of the research or thesis during the studies.

Scholarship will be awarded:
The scholarship will be paid out after signing the contract with the University of Tartu Foundation.
