Campaign of the University of Tartu scholarship fund for Ukrainian students
On 28 February 2022, the University of Tartu established a scholarship fund to collect and mediate donations to support Ukrainian students studying at the University of Tartu.
Donations to the fund can be made by companies and individuals. Bachelor’s and master’s students with Ukrainian citizenship are eligible to apply for the scholarship. The foundation announces a public competition for the scholarship on its website and in the university’s information channels.
According to Toomas Asser, the Rector of the University of Tartu, it is our duty to offer comprehensive support to students from Ukraine who have come to study at the University of Tartu, so they can feel safe in these extremely difficult times and also when thinking about the future and their studies. “The Ukrainian students’ university studies must continue despite the tragedy that has struck their homeland and families, and the economic difficulties it has brought. All members, alumni and partners of the University of Tartu and all Estonians who believe in education can contribute to this through this scholarship fund,” said Asser.
Leelo Muru,
the management board member of the University of Tartu Foundation, thanks
everyone who wants to support or has already supported the scholarship fund for
Ukrainian students. “Your contribution will help Ukrainian students feel more
secure, focus on their studies and overcome economic difficulties,” said Muru.
