Management and strategy
The Strategy of the University of Tartu Foundation 2025–2035 provides direction for the development of the foundation and the growth of the University of Tartu Endowment Fund for the next decade.
The patron of the University of Tartu Foundation is from 14 June 2022 Mrs. Sirje Karis.
The supervisory board of the University of Tartu Foundation
The foundation is strategically managed by the supervisory board, which current composition began to work on 7 June 2024. According to the statutes, the powers of a supervisory board member are valid for four years. One member is appointed to the supervisory board by the council of the University of Tartu and one member by the senate of the University of Tartu, the remaining members are elected by the biggest donators. The work of the supervisory board members is carried out on a voluntary basis and the members are not paid for the performance of their duties.The supervisory board organizes the management of the foundation, adopts strategic decisions and controls the activities of the foundation. The consent of the supervisory board is required for all transactions concerning the use and disposal of large-scale assets.

The board of the foundation
The foundation's daily work is managed by a single-member board. Leelo Muru has been a member of the board since 14 November 2024.The University of Tartu Foundation follows the best practices in collecting donations and the Code of Ethics for NGOs in its activities.
